If you are looking for a brilliantly authentic version of a heritage jean then you are probably already thinking that Warehouse & Co have the thing for you. Their 1939S jean is a superb example of the quality and attention to detail that we have come to expect from the brand, and have based this model on a piece from a vintage Montgomery Ward catalogue. The great American retailer who opened their doors in 1872 produced some fantastic denim over their many years, and this is an example of one of the early ones. With a mountain of period correct detailing to match their perfect manufacturing techniques, Warehouse have produced a jean which looks and feels like the real thing.

This 1939S model is a regular/straight cut with a mid rise and a button fly. The back pockets have been bar tacked, and the early 20th century style rivets have been reserved for the front pockets and one saddle shredder crotch rivet. The double felled seam of the seat has been folded in the opposite direction to what we might be used to, which was a necessity before the twin needle felling machine came into play. In place of a classic arcuate, the back pockets have been adorned with a single stitch star. There are two possible explanations for this star, the first being that it was included to represent the independence of the state of Texas, and the second being that is was added to commemorate the winners of the National Rodeo Championship.

This denim is a medium weight and features the companys iconic mustard yellow selvedge line. The indigo of these jeans fades beautifully over time and softens to a level of supreme comfort. This denim has been left raw, which means that it will shrink up to 8% in the first wash, therefore you might want to try a size up if you are aiming for the perfect shrink-to-fit style.
